• 4 slices bread
• 4 slices havarti or gouda
• 1 pear, sliced thin
• 1 apple, sliced thin
• 1 onion, caramelized
• 2 tbsp butter
• Optional: honey, Dijon mustard, thyme
Caramelize onions in butter for 12–15 minutes.
Slice pear and apple thinly.
Layer cheese, fruit, caramelized onions, more cheese, and top with bread.
Butter the outside and cook on medium-low for 3–4 minutes per side.
